Ezimo Women protest against the Frequent Kidnappings and Killings in their Community
More than 500 women in Ezimo have staged a peaceful protest in response to the escalating incidents of kidnapping within the community.
Their action follows a violent attack yesterday, during which armed kidnappers ambushed a speeding passenger bus, shooting indiscriminately and forcing the vehicle into a gutter. Approximately five passengers were abducted, while one woman sustained gunshot wounds. She is currently receiving treatment and is in stable condition at St. Bridget Hospital, Obollo Afor.
The protesters, who had gathered earlier for their monthly prayer meeting, commenced their march from Ulo to Ezimo Agu, calling for immediate government intervention and enhanced security measures to safeguard residents.
