Governor Peter Mbah has allegedly pleaded and threatened traditional rulers of Aninri Local Government Area over the presence of Fulani Herdsmen in Aninri LGA. This is coming on the heels of the mur der of farmers by Fulani Herdsmen in neighboring LGA, Awgu.

Some days ago, residents of Awgu protested against the mur der of farmers by Fulani Herdsmen. These herdsmen waylaid some farmers and keeled them. Due to this, Aninri leaders proceeded to sack these herdsmen from their land to avoid issues.

However, the Governor of Enugu State pleaded with them and asked the leaders to report to him if the herdsmen destroy their crops or attack them. Nonetheless, the traditional rulers are sceptical about the Governor's wish, and some of them are afraid of losing their positions.
